Audio Paper / Writing Oppertunities
After submitting my audio paper, I received the grade of an -A with a high recommendation to explore journals and articles that cover aural diversities. As an artist, I am constantly looking for new outlets to share my ideas with others. Recently, I have been exploring the world of audio papers as a means of conducting and presenting my research. I think that this is a new and different way of producing research, one that is more inclusive and accessible. As neurodiverse person, I think that this medium is particularly appealing as it allows for the exchange and archiving of information in a way that is more accommodating to different learning styles. With this, I can explore the world of audio papers even more perhaps, from a writing perspective. Developing my skills in this area over time, I can research and explore aspects of my practice that I may not have been able to previously and find a language for it. I find inspiration in authors like David Toop, who have such a specific way of describing and interpreting sound through language. Though writing is a skill that requires time and practice to develop, I have been surprised by the quality of work I have produced in the past two years. With the feedback of my dissertation, I was pointed in the direction of Goldsmiths journals to publish or archive my work. As I edit my audio paper further for submission to Goldsmith’s, I am excited about the possibilities that this medium presents for my future research and practice. If this submission is successful, I look forward to exploring and pushing the boundaries of what I could potentially achieve as a writer.
