Points of Reflection

Looking forward to my June 4th submission, I have begun thinking of how I want to approach this brief. As of recently, I have been looking into pairing video and sound together for this piece, still unsure of how I want to approach executing this. Talking about isomorphic keyboards, sidechaining, and ideas of performance, I have begun working on an idea. With these talks, I aim to approach the idea of points of reflection through sound/performance/video. This kind of goes back to an old legend, (Thai I believe, will search) where polishing a mirror is an act of some self cleansing essentially, so once I do more research into this, I will see if I want to develop the idea. Furthermore, in approaching points of reflection, I chose this because, at this very moment of time, I feel as if the whole planet should be at this point in unison. Now that we are not quite out of the pandemic, I know I have done an unmatched amount of reflection within the last year, especially now as we transition into a new start. Covering this topic, I realize I am coming from a very privileged situation which is why I want to approach this idea in a way that forces people to check their privilege. Planning this out, I am aiming to filter this idea through a deconstructed sound of sorts? I really enjoy the idea of a deconstruction piece being this point of reflection, it leaves the listener to conclude what else is there, a truly personal reflection.
