Spectral Stretch

Learning software like Cecilia5, Paulstretch, and Spectral Stretch has given me plenty of opportunities to expand my practice. In particular, the spectral stretch caught my interest by its’ accessibility to create textures. Spectral Stretch takes audio and can stretch it out to your desire, rather than be a few seconds longer or years. This became very useful to me during the creation of 21gs (Anima). Once I finished the first draft, I ran all of the audio through the spectral stretch as an underlying texture that felt comfortable and familiar to the piece. In general, this software can take any audio and turn it into a drone, which I am excited to utilize in my future work.
